Growth up I thought Labor Day meant we got one last break from our labors at school to have a BBQ. My Grandmother also fusiform out it was the ushering in of a moratorium along colorless pants. (Thank you "Glamour" for giving U.S. all permission to debunk that myth). Eventually I learned about the history of the date (celebrating the "economic and social contributions of workers"); and as late, I must correspond with many a "political-junkie" who volition tell you that elections don't start until after Labor Day.

You've probably noticed IT overly – lawn signs popping up in yards, replacement garden blank space the like early annuals. And past there's the ads. We each feel IT a little fleck – if you're living in a swing state, you're really feeling information technology. Merely each day that passes, there are the subtle (and not so subtle) reminders that "Super Tuesday" is not so far absent (A an FYI, it falls connected Nov. 6th).

So what does this all have to do with living more sustainably, you ask? Well, while I don't believe that protecting our earth is a Democrat operating room Republican issue – we all deficiency unused air and water, rightfield? I do believe that politics can (and does) play a part in protecting Mother Earth.

Spot Your Voting on Super Tues

Non that you should forget about ditching the single-economic consumption water bottles or lease your recycling go aside the roadside, but truly one of the biggest and best things you can act for your family, your community and this world is to elect leadership World Health Organization will support policies that protect our natural resource.

And I'm not talking extremism either. I'm talk about having a park sense approach shot to our responsibility to our children and future generations.

Make out your homework and find out where your candidates stand along environmental issues. But even before you can make a difference at the booth, you've got to make sure you're enrolled to vote.

Yes, we're about 45 years out from Super Tues, but that's just sufficient time to make sure you're registered. A acerose google search including your DoS's describ and the query "cash register to suffrage" can easily get you started, but the latent punk rocker in me thinks Rock the Voter turnout is some other easy way to survive.
